Auckland Museum is an elegant space located just outside Auckland’s CBD in the lush grounds of The Domain.

With its striking neo-classical architecture and majestic columns, the Museum is one of Auckland’s premier event locations. Whether your event is big or small, you’ll find the venue to suit your requirements in one of Auckland’s most iconic buildings.

From intimate dinner parties to seminars and everything in between, Auckland Museum has a space to match your function’s needs. There are six incredible spaces to choose from: The Grand Foyer, Auditorium, Champagne Mezzanine, Under the Dome, Origins Gallery, and Te Ao Mārama South Atrium, Auckland Museum’s newest venue.

The Champagne Mezzanine is ideal for a refined cocktail party; Under the Dome (at the very top of the Museum) is more expansive, settled under the copper dome of the Museum and making for a perfect spot for conferences and gala dinners; the Grand Foyer, originally built in 1929 offers style, taking particular advantage of the Museum’s neo-classic design; and the Origins Gallery is a venue entirely unique to us, allowing your guests to sip on wine with dinosaurs; the South Atrium takes your breath away sitting under a magnificent suspended wooden tanoa or kava bowl.

The wonders of Auckland Museum don’t end there. In addition to our choice of magnificent spaces, we also offer private after-hours gallery experiences for you and your guests. You can dazzle everyone with a private stroll through the Museum, taking in our exclusive exhibits and collections. Please note that whilst on-site paid parking is available at Auckland Museum, there is also the option of free timed parking on site.
